Christmas Bike Drive
Each year our community activities culminate with a company-wide holiday bike drive, through which we and our employees purchase and build thousands of bicycles to donate to local charities and military bases for distribution to children in need. Many of our vendors and customers also donate to this bike drive. This year Waste Connections of Denver was able to build 120 bikes.
Easter Seals Colorado
21 volunteers from a local church spent part of Sunday, August 28th trimming trees and bushes, weeding and performing other landscaping activities at Easter Seals Colorado's headquarters in Lakewood. Waste Connections of Colorado, Denver was more than happy to donate the roll off for the occasion. The non-profit organization, due to the volunteer work that day, has picked up more volunteers and a possible financial grant.
Easter Seals Colorado was started 85 years ago by concerned citizens and now assists 5,000 individuals of all disabilities and ages along with their families every year. Please visit www.eastersealscolorado.org for more information on the wide array of services they provide.
Celebrity Waiter
Waste Connections of Colorado, Denver participated in the Concerts for Kids "Celebrity Waiter" fundraiser on Saturday, August 27th at Shanahan's Steakhouse.
$31,798.21 was raised and will be used by the non-profit organization in supporting local child-focused organizations. Thank you to all who came out to the event and made it such a success!
Erie Town Fair
We were once again a proud sponsor of the Erie Town Fair in May. Waste Connections of Colorado, Denver had a booth on site and we enjoyed meeting all of you who stopped by to say hello or ask questions. To learn more about the Erie Town Fair, please visit their website.
Denver Day of Rock
Concerts for Kids, a Denver based non-profit group, presented the Denver Day of Rock in May. The family-fun event included a conglomeration of local and national acts on four stages.
Waste Connections of Colorado, Denver supports Concerts for Kids because of their integrity and mission. They have various fundraising events and also engage in community service projects. These activities benefit over 40 local child-focused organizations.
